Knowledge of Conical Head Forming

14 Sep 2022

According to the type, specification and material of the conical head, the whole plate or panel can be formed by cold stamping, hot stamping, cold spinning, hot spinning, cold rolling, hot rolling, etc. After that, it is welded into a conical head.

The atmosphere of the furnace of the conical headheating furnace should be neutral or weakly oxidizing, and the heated flame should not be directly contact with the work-piece.

When the aluminum conical headis hot formed, the heating temperature should generally not exceed 420℃. When the work-piecetemperature drops below 300℃, it is not advisable to continue thermoforming.

The titanium conical headshould be hot formed as much as possible. For example, the forming temperature is lower than 300℃, and hot forming should be used as much as possible after cold forming.

Stainless steel, copper conical head, nickel and nickel alloy conical headsshould be heated by electric heating furnace or hot gas furnace or oil burner, but should not be heated by coke or coal heating furnace.
